Pigeons smuggle cell phones into Brazil prison

Guards at the Danilio Pinheiro prison near the southeastern city of Sorocaba Brazil recently discovered a plot to smuggle cell phones into the prison via carrier pigeon.

The birds, which instictively return home when released, were bred in the prison, smuggled out, had small bags with cell phone parts attached to their legs, and released. Guards dicovered the plot after seeing one resting on a wire near the prison.

"The guards nabbed the bird after luring it down with some food and discovered components of a small cell phone inside the bag," Inmates use the phones to plan criminal activity whilst incarcerated.
